Job summary

Sysco is seeking a warehouse associate to receive, stock, prep, and ship merchandise to customers locally and beyond. You will pick items, load trucks, and ensure correct quantities and packaging per standards.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts, using Voice to Pick or RF systems, and maintaining safety. This is a full-time, on-site role in a fast-paced warehouse environment with potential shift variations.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate forklift and cherry picker and lift 40–60 pounds repeatedly per shift.
• Ability to bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods.
• Experience with Voice to Pick or RF systems is preferred.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for receiving, stocking, preparation and shipping of merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately select/pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure.


• Load Merchandise into appropriate truck.


• Drop merchandise for \"reserve\" to \"pick\" slots.


• Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines.


• Repack loose merchandise for shipping/delivery.


• Verify quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy.


• Accurately adhere to Warehouse Labor Standard, \"Preferred Method Standard\".


• Identify and report slot and put-away problems.


• Shrink wrap merchandise/pallets after picking as needed.


• Performs housekeeping duties as assigned.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Ability to operate forklift/pallet jack and cherry picker; ability to lift 40-60 pounds repeatedly each shift.


• Ability to bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods of time.


• Ability to successfully complete forklift training/certification requirements.


• Ability to operate Voice to Pick System or Radio Frequency (RF) system.

Preferred:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.


• Previous knowledge of SAP


• One year warehouse experience and previous forklift certification.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.


• Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.


• Required to stoop, kneel, crouch or sit.


• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.


• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job is performed in a warehouse/operations environment.

Frequently exposed to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment, extreme cold or heat in freezer/cooler warehouse environments including a temperature of zero degrees.

Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, containing toxic or caustic chemicals, low voltage electrical equipment, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment usually is loud.

This is a full-time position.

Must have the ability to work a varied schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays.

Work hours may vary or change based on customer orders, departmental or business requirements.

The position does not require travel.
