Job summary

GEODIS in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a warehouse associate to receive, store, move, and distribute materials. You will read schedules and orders to determine items to move, then transport items to storage or other areas.

Responsibilities include sorting items by size or code, assembling customer orders, and preparing pallets for packing and shipping. This role requires basic math skills, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Ability to perform basic measurements and units used in US commerce.
• Must follow simple one- or two-step instructions.

Responsibilities

• Reads production schedule and other orders to determine items to be moved.
• Conveys materials from receiving or production areas to designated storage areas.
• Sorts materials onto racks or bins by size, type, or product code.
• Assembles customer orders and places on pallets or in packing/shipping.

What you will be doing:

• Receiving, storing, moving, and distributing materials
• Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as: size, type, style, color, or product code
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places on pallets or shelves, or conveys order to packing station or shipping department

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
• Minimum 1 to 3 months of related experience
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
• Ability to complete duties with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
• Ability to use hands, sit, reach, stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch, talk or hear
• Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to be exposed to non-climate-controlled environments
