Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
Job Summary: As a Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate handling, storage, and distribution of goods within the warehouse. This includes receiving and processing incoming stock, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, organizing and retrieving stock, and maintaining inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Processing:
- Unload trucks and check in merchandise.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to organizational standards.
- Assist with the unloading, checking, and storing of incoming shipments.
- Order Fulfillment:
- Pick and prepare orders for shipment.
- Accurately pack and ship orders in a timely manner.
- Ensure orders are accurate and completed in accordance with customer specifications.
- Inventory Management:
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts.
- Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies to management.
- Warehouse Organization:
- Keep a clean and safe working environment.
- Optimize space utilization by organizing warehouse and work areas.
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to the supervisor immediately.
- Participate in safety training and contribute to a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven working experience as a warehouse associate.
- Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems.
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Forklift certification (preferred).
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (preferred).
Skills:
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and strength.
- Basic computer skills.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
- The warehouse environment may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Safety gear such as gloves, safety shoes, and helmets may be required.
