Job summary

Wismettac Asian Foods is hiring a Warehouse Associate to support our branch operations. Typical duties include receiving, stocking, assembling, staging, loading, and unloading products. The role requires standing, lifting heavy items, and operating pallet jacks within safety guidelines.

Schedule is 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime and weekend hours at some locations. Pre-employment drug testing is required and U.S. work authorization is necessary.

Qualifications

• Requires lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Package finished product for shipping (Shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
• Stage finished product for loading.
• Check orders to ensure correct assembly and readiness for delivery.
• Verify correct product counts on assembly.
• Assist in inventory maintenance and counts.
• Load finished product onto trucks.
• Unload and stock products in designated areas.
• Ensure product quality and avoid damaged items.
• Operate pallet jack per SOPs; perform preventive maintenance.
• Train new employees on the job.

Warehouse Associate

Work schedule: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday to Friday

Warehouse Associate 1 contributes to the efficient operation of the warehouse by providing labor support to the Branch Office. Warehouse Associate 1 in this job performs a range of general and specific warehouse tasks that can be easily learned on the job, such as receiving, stocking, assembling, staging, loading, and unloading products.

Responsibilities

• Package finished product for shipping (Shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
• Stages finished product for loading.
• Check purchase orders/work orders to ensure that products are correctly assembled and ready for delivery.
• Check items to ensure that the correct number of products is being assembled.
• Assists in inventory level maintenance and inventory counts.
• Load the finished product onto the truck.
• Unload products from trucks, containers, and stock them in the designated area.
• Responsible for quality control. Ensure that no damaged products are sent out, and no damaged products will be stored.
• Operate the pallet jack within standard operating procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pallet jacks.
• Perform on-the-job training for new employees.
• Handle inventory movement into and out of controlled locations.
• Prepare customers' orders for delivery.
• Provide fill-in support for other departments in the warehouse.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

• Must be able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under various time constraints.
• Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of the warehouse environment.
• The incumbent should be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Correctly follow a given rule or set of rules to arrange things or actions in a certain order.
• Require considerable and strenuous physical exertion so incumbents should be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate material handler equipment proficiently.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Physically strong, agile, dexterous, and undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions.
• Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance.
• Available to work extended hours.

Working Conditions

Some Warehouse Associates will spend time in the warehouse's refrigerated (Cooler and Freezer) section. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment, including but not limited to steel‑toed boots. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday (standard 40 hours per week); however, evening, night shift, overtime, and weekend hours are common in some branch offices.
