Job Summary
The Warehouse Associate supports warehouse operations, including receiving freight, checking for damages or shortages, distributing materials, filling orders, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The role involves coordinating deliveries, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and supporting overall warehouse functions.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Receive and inspect incoming freight for damages or shortages.
- Distribute materials to designated stock locations.
- Filling special orders/backorders upon receipt of materials.
- Coordinate with departments, carriers, and vendors regarding discrepancies or damages.
- Prepare and pack materials for delivery, understanding truck routes and delivery coordination.
- Maintain shipping equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
- Ensure inventory locations are accurate and shelves are organized.
- Label and inventory managed materials accurately.
- Maintain delivery vehicle condition and logs, monitor maintenance and mileage.
- Operate equipment safely, complying with safety regulations.
- Support warehouse operations and communicate inventory issues.
Non-essential Functions
- Assist customer service functions, including order entry and returns.
- Deliver materials to customer sites and assist with loading/unloading trucks.
- Report maintenance, repair, or security issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Preferred two years of work experience.
- Experience in warehouse distribution, forklift operation, electrical products knowledge preferred.
- Driving candidates must be at least 21, possess a valid driver’s license, and may need a medical certification.
- Knowledge of Windows, Internet, email, and SAP is a plus.
