Job summary

Scheels is seeking a warehouse associate in Fargo to support receiving, shipping, picking and packing operations. The role requires energy, accuracy, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced setting away from the retail floor.

Responsibilities include packing orders, sorting products to stores, and maintaining organized work areas. Must be comfortable using a handheld scanner and able to eventually obtain forklift certification.

Overview:

The warehouse associate position at Scheels will perform various duties within our receiving, shipping, picking and packing areas. Preferred candidates have an energy and sense of urgency that matches the expectations of Scheels. Production standards and accuracy are essential aspects of this position. This position will not be located at the Scheels retail store, this is a warehouse position.

Responsibilities:

  • Self-starter and eager to stay consistently busy
  • Ability to navigate a personal computer and handheld inventory computer/scanner.
  • Loads and unloads trailers by hand
  • Demonstrate aptitude and ability to shift between many different job responsibilities as workflow dictates.
  • Packs customer orders for shipment
  • Sort items to correct stores
  • Routinely audit product locations and inventory for best accuracy practices
  • Selects and verifies product for fulfillment and moves to the correct area for shipping
  • Receive and organize merchandise
  • Handle incoming merchandise with efficiency to assure correct counts
  • Maintains work area by cleaning as needed
  • Operate pallet jack to move shipments between platforms, storage and work areas
  • Able to obtain forklift certification within a timeframe set by leadership
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Perform work efficiently and effectively with a high level of accuracy in a fast paced environment

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree

Schedule

Must be flexible to work between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays. Average hours per week is 20 hours.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand (for extended periods of time), bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch,
reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Very heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 100 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
