Job summary

R.E. Michel Company, LLC in Davenport, IA is seeking a Warehouse associate for a full-time non-exempt position. You will handle orders, data entry, shipping/receiving, and inventory while delivering friendly service on-site, by phone, or at the delivery site.

The role requires basic math, the ability to read invoices and stock descriptions, and the physical capability to lift heavy items. Propane/product knowledge is highly valued, with safety and teamwork emphasized.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of product, propane, highly preferred.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Ability to read invoices, catalogs, stock numbers and descriptions to accurately identify items.
• Heavy lifting required; must move products weighing over 70 pounds.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment to safely move product.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders, maintain communication with customers and provide updates.
• Complete customer sales by data entry, product verification, and payment collection.
• Provide expert level customer service in-person and by telephone.
• Warehouse duties including shipping/receiving, order processing, delivery and inventory.
• Handle difficult situations with diplomacy and tact.
• Work as part of a team with a wide range of people.
• Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
• Multi-task to complete responsibilities in a timely and productive manner.

Job Title: Warehouse
Full Time/Non-Exempt
Location: Davenport, IA
Reports To: Branch Manager

General Summary: Uses all available resources to locate product. Maintains self service area along with creating and maintaining branch displays. Good interpersonal skills necessary to service customers in the branch, on the telephone or at the delivery site. Pre-employment screening required.

Responsibilities Include:

• Complete customer sales by means of data entry, product verification, and payment collection.
• Provide expert level customer service through effective communication efforts in-person and telephone.
• Warehouse duties including shipping and receiving, order processing, delivery and inventory.
• Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy and tact.
• Team player who works productively with wide range of people.
• Can recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers

Work Environment: Fast paced environment where frequent interruptions may occur. Requires frequent bending, climbing, movement and lifting during physical loading/unloading of trucks and when stocking products. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. This is a safety sensitive position.
