Job Description
Warehouse Associate is responsible for overseeing daily inventory control operations within the warehouse and supervising inventory team members to ensure accuracy, organization, and efficiency. This role ensures that all inventory activities are conducted in compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures, supporting both operational performance and client satisfaction. The warehouse associate collaborates closely with the Operations Manager and cross‑functional teams to identify process improvements and maintain best practices in inventory management.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform daily cycle count tasks with the inventory team.
- Identify priority areas for cycle counts and ensure completion in a timely manner.
- Investigate major inventory discrepancies and work to resolve them.
- Perform and approve inventory adjustments in warehouse systems to ensure record accuracy.
- Oversee labeling, storage, and organization of inventory within all warehouse locations.
- Ensure the inventory control area and storage zones remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Manage and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy and performance.
- Support third‑party audits and client‑requested cycle counts or physical inventories.
- Collaborate with Customer Service and the Inventory Operations Manager on discrepancy reporting and resolution.
- Ensure adherence to established SOPs and role expectations.
- Review material movements and transactions to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Assist with client Quality Control (QC) requests according to established procedures.
- Manage the internal picking error log and coordinate restocking of returned inventory.
- Ensure all inventory control staff follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Report accidents or injuries immediately to management and HR with proper documentation.
- Submit Time & Attendance records accurately and on time.
- Promote respectful communication, teamwork, and professionalism within the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations.
- Proven experience with cycle counting, reconciliations, and variance resolution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong understanding of inventory processes, metrics, and reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to train, coach, and lead team members effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be flexible with scheduling and available to work overtime as business needs dictate.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on feet for extended periods in a fast‑paced environment.
