Base pay range
$40,000.00/yr - $50,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records for all spare parts, including receiving, storage, issuance, and returns.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories to ensure data integrity.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete stock, and propose solutions for disposition.
- Utilize inventory management software (ERP/WMS) to track and control inventory flow.
- Optimize spare parts reorder points and order quantities to minimize carrying costs while ensuring availability.
Warehouse Operations
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming spare parts and materials according to established procedures.
- Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.
- Implement and maintain proper shelving, labeling, and storage techniques.
- Prepare and pick spare parts for outgoing shipments, work orders, or internal requisitions.
- Operate a forklift or other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse.
Shipping/Receiving and LTL Coordination
- Book LTL shipments and coordinate pickup times based on order urgency and carrier availability.
- Communicate with freight forwarders and LTL providers to schedule pickups and track deliveries.
- Track shipments and resolve any transit issues or delays.
- Manage return process for defective or incorrect parts.
- Ensure proper packaging and handling of parts to prevent damage during transit.
- Process all shipping and receiving documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain shipping logs and ensure all shipment records are accurately filed for audit and customer service purposes.
Customer Fulfillment and Support
- Act as a liaison between warehouse operations and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Communicate with customers regarding part availability, lead times, and shipping updates when necessary.
- Resolve customer issues related to shipping errors, damage, or incorrect parts with a focus on fast and professional resolution.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics.
- Recommend and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Stay informed of industry’s best practices and emerging technologies in warehouse management.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in a warehouse, inventory control, with a strong focus on spare parts management.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Inventory Management Systems (IMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel proficiency is critical).
- Experience with barcode scanning and inventory tracking technologies.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 60 lbs.) and stand for extended periods.
- Forklift experience is preferred.
