Job summary

Mecklenburg County ABC Board in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Warehouse Associate to receive, store, and distribute inventory, tools, and products, ensuring accurate handling and timely fulfillment.

You will work under the Assistant Warehouse Manager, perform physical tasks, operate material handling equipment when certified, and participate in monthly inventory.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience with stock handling and inventory control.
  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • 1+ years operating a hand truck, power jack and/or forklift preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Unload inbound shipments by hand or forklift.
  • Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Pick, pack, and stage orders according to lists and schedules.
  • Stack and secure items on trucks to prevent damage.
  • Move materials from receiving to storage or other areas.
  • Record quantities received or delivered and assist with counts.
  • Assist drivers with store deliveries when needed.
  • Participate in monthly warehouse inventory activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Warehouse Associate

Overview

The Warehouse Associate will receive, store, and distribute inventory, materials, tools, equipment, and products by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Unload inbound shipments by hand or by use of hand truck, forklift, etc.
  • Verifies accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Pick, pack, and stage orders according to pick lists, internal customer requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Stacks and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, according to pre-determined sequence such as size, color, or product code.
  • Records the amount of materials or items received or delivered.
  • Participates in janitorial maintenance of warehouse facilities and office facility grounds such as sweeping, taking out trash, and consolidating empty pallets.
  • Participates in monthly warehouse inventory activities, such as prepping and counting products and investigating variances.
  • Assist drivers to make store deliveries when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be minimum age of 18.
  • Minimum 1-year of warehouse experience with stock handling and inventory control methods and procedures required.
  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • 1 or more years of experience operating a hand truck, power jack and/or forklift preferred.
  • Familiarity with handheld scanners or delivery apps a plus.
Language Skills
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English to effectively carry out job responsibilities.
  • Able to compose simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings to supervisors and other colleagues within the organization.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently needs to stand, walk, use their hands for tasks like handling or feeling, reaching with their arms.
  • They must regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds and will occasionally lift and/or move items weighing 50+ pounds.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing and listening.
  • Occasionally, the employee will need to sit, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
