DM FOOD SERVICE CORP is seeking a dependable Warehouse Associate to support receiving, picking, packing and shipping in a wholesale food distribution setting. The role includes occasional local deliveries and operating forklifts/pallet jacks in a safe, efficient manner.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, team-oriented and comfortable with both warehouse duties and driving responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations or distribution environment preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklifts safely.
• Comfort with lifting up to 90 pounds and working in cold environments.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for delivery.
• Load and unload delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
• Maintain inventory organization with FIFO.
• Follow food safety procedures for refrigerated and frozen products.
• Keep warehouse clean and organized and report discrepancies.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking and motivated Warehouse Associate to join our growing wholesale food distribution team. In this position, you will support the warehouse operations by receiving shipments, processing orders, storing/organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean, safe, efficient warehouse environment, and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. In addition to warehouse duties, this position will occasionally assist with local deliveries, including scheduled deliveries, last-minute orders, and emergency deliveries as business needs arise.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, works well in a team environment, and is comfortable assisting with both warehouse operations and occasional driving responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for delivery
• Load and unload delivery trucks safely and efficiently
• Maintain proper inventory organization and product rotation (FIFO)
• Follow food safety procedures, including proper refrigerated and frozen product handling.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the warehouse
• Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment
• Report damaged products, discrepancies, or inventory concerns to management
• Follow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures
• Assist with local customer deliveries as needed
• Complete occasional emergency, last-minute, or additional deliveries
• Safely operate company delivery vehicles for which the employee it authorized and qualified
• Properly load, secure, transport, and unload customer orders.
• Verify order accuracy and obtain required delivery documentation
• Maintain professionalism and provide excellent customer service during deliveries
• Follow all traffic laws, company vehicle policies, and delivery procedures

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience preferred
• Valid California driver's license and an acceptable driving record required
• Ability to safely operate company delivery vehicles as assigned
• Experience with pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts preferred
• Ability to lift and handle heavy products weighing up to 90 pounds, with appropriate equipment or team assistance as needed as part of loading and unloading trucks and stacking or organizing products on pallets
• Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
• Previous food distribution or refrigerated warehouse experience is a plus
