Job summary

Hanger, Inc. is seeking a Materials Handler I to perform the physical tasks involved in order fulfillment within our Distribution Center, under close supervision.

You will read pick tickets, mark quantities, pack products securely, and operate in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and accuracy. High school diploma or GED and less than 1 year of related experience required. Excellent opportunity to grow with a nationwide leader in orthotics and prosthetics.

Responsibilities

• Read pick ticket to determine location and quantity of items.
• Mark pick ticket with appropriate markings to show correct quantity and product picked/packed.
• Walk with urgency while picking orders; may ascend industrial ladders; pack products to prevent damage.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
• Normally receive detailed instructions; work under close supervision.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Adhere to safety training for DC operations.

The Material Handler I performs the physical tasks involved in order fulfillment involving picking and packing items with close supervision in the Distribution Center.

Your Impact

• Read pick ticket to determine location and quantity of items.
• Mark pick ticket with appropriate markings to show correct quantity and product have been picked / packed.
• Walk with a sense of urgency while picking orders which may involve industrial ladders. - Packs product in appropriate size box for shipping and correctly to prevent damage.
• Work in a fast paced environment and work with a sense of urgency.
• Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Works under close supervision.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Follows company policies and procedures.
• Adheres to safety training given for operation in the Distribution Center.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Less than 1 year of related experience

Physical Demands

• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Walking / Standing during working hours
• Effectively and safely use an industrial ladder.
• Ability to work in a non climate controlled environment.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, communicate with other employees and to operate computer hardware systems.
• The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, crouch and stoop.
