Summary
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for various tasks related to warehouse and shipping operations, including but not limited to fulfilling customer orders by adequately picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment, correctly receiving and fulfilling bins of incoming shipments, performing regular precise inventory cycle counts, properly processing parts returned from customers, returning parts to vendors, and the safe and efficient operation of a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for various tasks related to warehouse and shipping operations, including but not limited to fulfilling customer orders by adequately picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment, correctly receiving and fulfilling bins of incoming shipments, performing regular precise inventory cycle counts, properly processing parts returned from customer, returning parts to vendors and the safe and efficient operation of a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Fulfills customer orders by accurately picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment. Utilizes the best package sizing to achieve cost-effective freight; ensures delivery as close to customer expectations as possible.
- Receives incoming shipments, verifies contents against packing slips/invoices, and ensures proper storage.
- Inspects products for damage or defects and reports any issues to the supervisor or follow proper procedures/protocol.
- Packages parts for parcel shipments according to company specifications.
- Unloads, folds, ties and palletizes rubber tracks utilizing a forklift.
- Unloads and categorizes steel undercarriage parts into proper bins.
- Unloads, ties, palletizes and tags items, ensures items are stored in their proper locations.
- Assist carriers with loading as necessary – pallet loading with forklift, etc.
- Assists in maintaining accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Safely and efficiently operates a forklift, pallet jack or other equipment to move materials, load and unload trucks, and store items.
- Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE and safe forklift operation.
- Collaborates with team members and communicates effectively with supervisors to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Ensures the warehouse is organized and items are stored in designated locations.
- Empties trash, prepares for trash and recycling pickup as scheduled.
- Notifies the Manager of any issues or discrepancies with orders or processes.
- Performs daily checks on equipment prior to operation.
- Weighs and measures outgoing packages to determine shipping costs.
- Builds pallets, crates, etc., specific to each order.
Shipping
- Maintains Orders to Ship Report; ensures all orders are shipped and performs transfers in SAP.
- Assists with shipping quotes for customers.
- Ships product using the most cost-effective packaging; ensures timely delivery.
- Tracks packages and reports delays or issues.
- Transfers received products to Inventory Control or Sales.
- Assists with loading carriers as needed.
- Picks, packs, and ships parts as directed.
- Prepares shipping documents and labels.
- Schedules pickups and deliveries.
- Tracks shipments and communicates updates.
- Maintains accurate shipment records.
Required Education/Experience/Skills
- Basic knowledge of agricultural/construction equipment.
- Basic knowledge of weighing and labeling equipment.
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office and shipping software (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
- Warehouse experience preferred but not required.
- High school diploma is a plus.
Certifications, Licensees, or Registrations
- Forklift certification from a recognized program.
