Reports To: Warehouse & Inventory Manager
Position Overview: We are looking for a reliable and skilled Warehouse Assistant I to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in warehouse operations, including shipping, inventory management, and operating forklifts. This role offers the opportunity to make an impact in a dynamic environment and work closely with our warehouse management team.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks (with proper training and certification) to move materials safely within the warehouse.
Assist with loading and unloading deliveries under supervision.
Help prepare outgoing shipments by labeling and packaging products as directed.
Perform basic product checks and notify supervisors of any visible issues.
Keep work areas clean and organized to support warehouse safety and efficiency.
Support inventory activities by counting items and helping with stock organization.
Apply labels and assist with packing products for shipment.
Follow directions from senior warehouse staff and support general warehouse tasks as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with daily warehouse operations.
Required Qualifications:
Willingness to obtain forklift certification (training may be provided).
Willingness to complete OSHA 10 safety training.
Basic organizational and time management skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work well both independently and with others.
Attention to detail and a willingness to learn quality standards.
Basic math skills (e.g., counting, simple calculations).
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and perform general physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving.
Familiarity with shipping carriers (FedEx, UPS, etc.) and documentation processes.
Ability to operate additional warehouse machinery or equipment.
Work Environment:
This position requires on-site attendance every scheduled workday and is not eligible for hybrid or telecommuting work arrangements. The Warehouse Assistant will work in a warehouse setting that may involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise. Safety gear may be required when operating equipment or handling certain materials.
