Job Description Summary

The warehouse associate is responsible for acting on behalf of warehouse lead to ensure customer requirements are met. This includes (but is not limited to) conducting cycle counts, pulling parts or inbounding products, receiving goods into the warehouse, assisting with linehaul operations. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure smooth operation of the warehouse and property along with contributing to a positive customer experience.

Essential Functions/ Core Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

Assist with daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.

Take steps to reduce costs (increase efficiency) within scope of your responsibilities and make suggestions to Regional Branch Manager and Operations Lead

Assist with Inspecting equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary

Leadership Dependability and Reliability

Behave consistently and predictably.

Diligently follow through on commitments and consistently meet deadlines.

Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.

Be present for critical events within area of responsibility

Response to requests for information from within the company

Communication with your Manager and fellow coworkers on company priorities and local procedures.

Equipment and Operations

Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and report any issues to Regional Branch Manger when necessary

Ability to learn and use technology in an efficient and efficient manner

People Management

Assist with recruiting efforts to hire, train, & develop strong performing team players to cover all routes and services assigned to the branch’s region.

Budget & Cost Reduction

Work with the Regional Branch Manager to develop and control the expense and capital budgets.

Assist with Monthly storage billing

Take steps to reduce costs (increase efficiency) within your organization.

Approve timecards for payroll, analyzing and managing overtime while taking ownership of overall process to ensure overall efficient scheduling to align with budget and business needs.

Customer Service & Strategic Thinking

Responsible for Timely response to customers addressing their concerns

Respond to the receivers' inquiries and concerns, and resolve delivery complaints immediately

Strategizing profitability techniques and identifying related business opportunities

Safety & Compliance

Support and enforce all aspects of company policies/procedures, create and maintain a high level of morale that encourages associate communication, and ensure equal opportunity for all.

Reporting issues: Must report any delivery or safety issues or concerns to their Regional Branch Manager immediately. Work with Manager to complete 1st Report of Injury / accident form on same day and notify Human Resources department and Purple Mountain owners department within 24 hours of incident. Notification should be made immediately to Owners and Human\ Resources and reporting done with 24 hours. Ensure employees complete their portion of reporting and additional reporting is done in a timely manner.

Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, And Licensing Requirements

Ability obtain and maintain Forklift certification is desired

Ability to train and use pallet jack is required

A Driver’s License is desired but not required. The ability to move fleet vehicles within warehouse requires a valid license, if there is no valid license, employee can NOT drive a vehicle at any time.
