Job Overview

The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities – Warehouse Division is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Warehouse and Materials Technician, Senior. This role involves inventory management, distribution, and warehousing functions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Managing inventory supplies and performing periodic inventories.
  • Assisting customers and city employees in obtaining materials and supplies.
  • Maintaining accurate logs and records through data entry; processing invoices and verifying accuracy against purchase orders and supplies received.
  • Soliciting vendor quotes and ordering materials.
  • Receiving and moving inventory, possibly using a forklift.
  • Conducting inventory control and cross-training in procurement functions.
  • Operating forklifts for inventory receipt and storage.
  • Maintaining supplies and conducting cycle counts.
Qualifications

The candidate should be able to lift at least 75 lbs and be available for after-hours and weekend on-call schedules approximately one week per month.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License within 30 days of hire and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Forklift certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Technical Degree or equivalent training.
  • Experience with warehouse supplies and procurement.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
