CSU Long Beach is seeking a Warehouse and Inventory Specialist to manage daily operations of the warehouse, inventory control, and the supervision of Student Assistants. You will independently process requisitions, purchase orders, requests, and invoices for department goods and services, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, Student Housing the Warehouse and Inventory Specialist performs all duties but works independently in inventory control, work control functions and minor project coordination for University Housing Services. Incumbent is responsible for the daily operations of the Warehouse, including but not limited to Warehouse Stock, Inventory Control, and the leadership of Student Assistants assigned to the area. In accordance with all applicable state laws, Trustees, and University policies, the Warehouse and Inventory Specialist independently process a variety of diverse and complex requisitions, purchase orders requests, and invoices for the department goods and services.
Furthermore, this position is responsible for providing services that are equitable, inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life, retention, and graduation rate. This position uses a student-centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

The ideal candidate will possess strong working knowledge of warehouse and inventory management operations, including receiving, storing, packing, and shipping materials and supplies, as well as methods for maintaining inventory records and forecasting routine supply needs. They will have the ability to quickly learn and apply CSU procurement practices, procedures, and material specifications while demonstrating general knowledge of facilities equipment, maintenance materials, and custodial operations. The successful candidate will be skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications and systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft, Metabim, TrackPad, Mail Metering software, StarRez, TMA, and other business-related applications. They will demonstrate the ability to plan, coordinate, and lead the work of others, provide training and work direction, maintain accurate records, prepare reports and correspondence, and perform administrative, technical, and analytical duties with a high degree of accuracy. The candidate must also maintain confidentiality, communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders, and exhibit exceptional customer service and public relations skills.

Heavy work – Job involves lifting more than 40 pounds. Approximately half of the incumbent's time will be spent walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, or climbing.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
