Job summary

Alstom in Boston is seeking a Logistics Operator to manage inbound/outbound materials, ensure inventory accuracy, and support timely shipments in a fast-paced rail industry environment.

You will collaborate with supply chain, customer service, operations, and transportation partners while maintaining a safe, organized warehouse. The role involves cycle counts, data entry, and continuous process improvements within a global mobility leader.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid state driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, or material handling operations.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, shipping, receiving, and material movement processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Understanding of domestic and international shipping requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain detailed records.
  • Flexibility to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hazardous Materials certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, and process materials accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through transactions and cycle counts.
  • Pick, pack, crate, and ship domestic and international orders.
  • Operate forklifts safely and perform daily equipment inspections.
  • Support same-day receipts, shipments, goods issues, and inventory movements.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your warehouse and logistics expertise in a fast-paced rail industry environment. You’ll work alongside passionate, motivated, and dedicated teammates who play a critical role in keeping materials moving to support operations and customer needs. You'll help ensure inventory accuracy, efficient material flow, and on-time shipments that contribute directly to the success of our business.

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with supply chain, customer service, operations, and transportation partners, managing inbound and outbound material activities while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. You’ll specifically support receiving, inventory management, picking, packing, shipping, and material transactions, while also assisting with cycle counts, process improvements, and special projects.

We’ll look to you for:

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform warehouse activities throughout the workday
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts
  • Warehouse and distribution environment
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and truck traffic
