Concordance Healthcare Solutions LLC is hiring a full-time 2nd Shift Shipping Supervisor for our Chicago, IL distribution center. You will lead the Shipping Department, organize workloads, and drive on-time freight movement with a focus on safety and quality.

The role includes hands-on shipping assistance and collaboration with carriers like UPS and FedEx. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 3+ years in warehouse operations, and experience supervising staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years of related experience; one year in warehouse operations preferred.
• Experience supervising, training, developing and providing direction to staff a plus.
• Knowledge of Voice Pick and VAI systems (or similar warehouse management or operating system) preferred.
• Must be able to lift/pull/carry at least 70 pounds; stand/walk for entire shift, often over 8 hours.

Responsibilities

We have a job opening for a full-time 2nd Shift Shipping Supervisor in our Chicago, IL distribution center. The primary role of the Shipping Supervisor is providing leadership and direction for the Shipping department in this location; overseeing handling of merchandise for shipment and departmental staff as efficiently, safely and productively as possible, to ensure that customer expectations are exceeded. Shift time includes 1:00pm to 10:00pm; overtime required.

Essential Functions:

• The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for overall management of the Shipping Department in the Chicago location.
• Responsibilities include organizing the daily workload of department and directs employees accordingly. Works to ensure freight and packages are being moved to destinations on time.
• Play a key role in interviewing and hiring quality staff members; overseeing a strong training regimen for new staff; continuously developing new and experienced workers; managing staff; and completing performance management reviews on assigned employees twice a year.
• Oversees and is directly involved (hands on) in the following Shipping operations: productivity, quality, freight handling, including, but not limited to, customer service, and safety. This role is responsible for ensuring prompt, efficient and accurate handling of merchandise as well as developing and implementing team goals.
• In addition to supervising Shipping staff, this position is also responsible for providing leadership by example while assisting with daily shipping functions. This includes performing duties, such as building and consolidating pallets of customer shipment; organization and staging of the department; preparing orders for shipment with external carriers, such as UPS and FedEx and other various duties.
• Ensures that departments keep a clean and orderly work environment. Assigns general custodial tasks and establishes cleaning schedule for areas. Supports a healthy and safe work environment by communicating unsafe conditions immediately.
• Maintains warehouse equipment to ensure safety of employees; addresses any mechanical issues that are reported.
• Works proactively to foster and maintain a positive team-oriented atmosphere at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You will Need to be Successful:

• High school diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years of related experience required and one year in warehouse operations or distribution is preferred.
• Previous experience supervising, training, developing and providing direction to staff a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of Voice Pick and VAI systems (or similar warehouse management or operating system) is preferred.
• Must be able to lift/pull/carry at least 70 pounds; must be willing/able to stand and walk for entire shift, often over 8 hours. With or without accommodation.
• Strong customer service, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively build relationships are essential.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screening.

Work Location:

• This role is located in Chicago, IL.

Compensation: $65,000-$70,000 annually.
