Job summary

Schillings in Saint John, IN is seeking a Warehouse team member for a full-time, on-site role. You will keep the yard and warehouses organized, pull orders accurately, and help with receiving materials and inventory counts.

The job offers full benefits and opportunities for advancement; nights or Sundays are not required. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, be able to regularly lift 50 lbs (up to 80 lbs occasionally), operate equipment safely, and communicate clearly with the team.

Qualifications

• Valid driver\'s license is required.
• Regularly lift/carry/move up to 50 lbs; may lift up to 80 lbs.
• Frequently sit, stand, bend, reach, grip, push, pull, lift, climb, carry, and walk.
• Operate all equipment safely: sweeper, skid steer, order picker (8–30 ft), forklift, pickup trucks with/without snowplow, flatbeds, box trucks, vans, and SUVs.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Communicate information to customers/management/other team members through radios or in person.
• Recognize and respond to safety/hazardous situations.
• Assist customers with a smile and urgency.
• Read a tape measure and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Keep warehouses organized and clean, with orders pulled efficiently and accurately
• Receive and check-in new materials
• Keep up with inventory, including counting and re-counting
• Load and unload box trucks/semis
• Basic lawn maintenance; snow removal in the winter
• Report damaged/missing products to Operations Manager
• Follow proper procedures for damaged items
• Float between Warehouses as needed, while maintaining knowledge of different products
• Drive Non-CDL trucks as needed
• Communicate with Operations Manager to ensure all tasks are complete
• Any other tasks or areas of responsibility that the Operations Manager or Schilling family deem appropriate

Education/Requirements:

• Maintain a valid driver's license
• Regularly lift/carry/move up to 50lbs. and may have to occasionally lift up to 80lbs.
• Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, reach, grip, push, pull, lift, climb, carry, and walk throughout Yard/Warehouses
• Safely operate all equipment
  • Could include sweeper, skid steer, order picker ranging from 8-30 feet in the air, forklift, pickup trucks (with and without snowplow), flatbeds, box trucks, vans, and SUVs.
• Ability to work outside in ALL weather conditions
• Effectively communicate information to customers/management/other team members through radios or in person
• Recognize and distinguish safety alarms and alert signals
• Identify, recognize, and respond to any safety/hazardous situations
• Assist customers with a smile
  • Including moving swiftly/jogging with a sense of urgency to waiting customers across our Yard/Warehouses
• Organizational skills, basic math, and ability to read a tape measure
• Composite/steel toe shoes required (annual boot reimbursement provided)
