Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing lists, and isometric drawings
  • Familiarity with material traceability and QA/QC requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in an industrial environment

Responsibilities

  • Receive deliveries of pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and related materials
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing lists, and material test reports (MTRs)
  • Inspect materials for damage, correct size, wall thickness, grade, and specification compliance
  • Confirm proper documentation, including heat numbers and traceability requirements
  • Tag and label materials to maintain traceability throughout fabrication
  • Enter receiving data into inventory or material tracking systems
  • Coordinate with QA/QC and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies or non-conforming materials
  • Stage materials for fabrication crews according to work orders or isometric drawings
  • Safely unload materials using forklifts, cranes, or rigging equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving and laydown area

Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Receiver (Pipe Shop) $18.75 – $21.00/hr

The Warehouse Receiver in a pipe shop is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming piping materials, fittings, valves, and related components. This role ensures all materials meet project specifications, are properly identified, and are stored or staged to support fabrication and production activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive deliveries of pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, gaskets, and related materials
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing lists, and material test reports (MTRs)
  • Inspect materials for damage, correct size, wall thickness, grade, and specification compliance
  • Confirm proper documentation, including heat numbers and traceability requirements
  • Tag and label materials to maintain traceability throughout fabrication

  • Exposure to weather (if outdoor laydown yard)
  • Frequent lifting, standing, walking, and equipment operation
