Job summary

Six Flags in Gurnee, IL is seeking a seasonal Show Wardrobe Assistant to support the costuming for characters, events and productions. You will clean, repair and prepare costumes, assist with sewing tasks, and help manage wardrobe operations on busy days.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean wardrobe area, navigating production spaces, and training new staff as needed. Must be 18+, able to work afternoons/evenings and outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to work afternoon/evening until 90 minutes after park close.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Professional, self-motivated with ability to multi-task and enthusiastic.

Responsibilities

• Clean and dry worn costume pieces and return them to storage at night.
• Fix minor repairs on costumes as needed.
• Assist with Show Wardrobe operations, including handing out costumes and minor sewing tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe atmosphere in Show Wardrobe areas (sweeping, cleaning, restroom and storage area upkeep).
• Navigate around scenic elements in production areas, sometimes in dark spaces.
• Follow park policies as outlined in the Seasonal Handbook and SOP Manual; report unsafe acts to supervisor.
• Operate industrial and domestic sewing equipment.
• Construct special costumes as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Train new personnel as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will clean and dry worn costume pieces and put them in their proper place at the end of the night.
• Fix minor repairs on costumes as needed.
• Assist with smooth operation of Show Wardrobe including handing out costumes and helping with minor sewing.
• Maintain clean and safe atmosphere in all areas of Show Wardrobe. This may include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning up trash, cleaning restrooms, and cleaning the storage/shop area.
• Navigate in, on, or around scenic elements associated with specific production in potentially dark and restrictive spaces.
• Adhere to and enforce all park policies and procedures as outlined in the Seasonal Handbook and the Department Standard Operating Procedure Manual.
• Immediately report any unsafe acts to the Show Wardrobe Supervisor.
• Operate Industrial and domestic sewing equipment.
• Construct special costumes as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Train new personnel as needed.
