Job summary

LEGOLAND Parks in Winter Haven, FL is seeking a Costume Wardrobe professional to create, maintain, and repair costumes for entertainment shows and to support Wardrobe operations across the park.

The role requires experience in theatre costuming, sewing skills, and the ability to manage wardrobe records and inventories. Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, are common in theme parks, with comprehensive health benefits and paid time off offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cutter, Fitter, Garment Maker in Entertainment Costume fields is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Costume/Garment Construction, industrial machines and hand sewing skills.
• Knowledge of textiles, washing, and ironing are necessary.
• Good organizational skills and an eye for detail.
• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to self-initiate tasks and coordinate daily work with minimal supervision.

Job description

What you'll bring to the team

Scope of Job:

• Create, maintain, and repair costumes as needed
• Maintain computer records
• Maintain costume cleanliness and repair
• Provide excellent customer service to employees
• Build new Costumes for Entertainment Shows
• Will hem and prepare Operational Wardrobe for MCs on an approved basis
• Assist Costumers with repair work on Character Costumes as needed
• Alter Entertainment Costumes to fit Actors/Actresses
• Will perform laundry work as necessary
• Will help with stock control and inventories of Wardrobe Room supplies
• Assist at Wardrobe/Uniform counter
• Will perform duties and assume other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Costume/Wardrobe Manager. This may include taking on the role of a Costumer for park shows in an emergency. (Must be familiar with all shows and venues.)
• Makes sure that all sewing equipment in Workroom is clean and in proper working order

Qualifications & Experience

Background and Experience:

• Experience as a Cutter, Fitter, Garment Maker in any Entertainment Costume related field, Theatre, Theme Parks etc. is highly desirable.
• Must have a good knowledge of Costume/Garment Construction, industrial machines and hand sewing skills.
• Knowledge of textiles, washing, and ironing are necessary.
• Must have good organizational skills and an eye for detail.
• Requires good interpersonal skills, must be polite, friendly and outgoing.
• Good verbal communication skills are important.
• Requires the ability to self‑initiate activities and coordinate daily tasks, should be able to work with minimum supervision.
• Must be a team player and like working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic math skills are required.

Education

Enrolment or Completion of College Education leading to a degree in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Costuming, Pattern Making, or Garment Construction is highly desirable. The preferred candidate would have 1 or more years of experience as a Cutter, Fitter, Garment Maker in Theme Parks, Theatre or other related field. Must be able to pass a sewing test to demonstrate skills.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit or stand for sustained periods of time in a theme park environment, perform paperwork activities, and drive.
• Finger dexterity sufficient to sew, complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
• Visual acuity sufficient to sew, read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
• Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.

Work Environment

Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces. Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

Other Job Requirements

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations.
• Attendance is a mandatory function of this job.
