Overview

Qualicare Nursing Home offers a role for an organized, helpful individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills as a Ward Clerk. The Ward Clerk assists the Charge and Staff Nurses in recording and charting medical or administrative information in the medical record.

What you’ll be doing

• Record medical and administrative information in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures.
• Answer telephones, page calls, deliver messages to residents, and related tasks as necessary.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents. Assist in arranging transportation, packing, escorting to discharge/transfer area, loading, etc., as necessary.
• File reports in residents’ charts as directed.
• Transcribe physician’s orders to MAR and TARs. Fax physician orders to pharmacy. Notify nurse of orders and obtain her signature.
• Schedule resident appointments for diagnostic and therapeutic services, and arrange transportation.
• Greet newly admitted residents upon admission and escort to room as necessary.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
