Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician for a full-time union role to perform advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on building systems, electrical and mechanical equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operations.

The senior technician will work independently on the 2nd shift, troubleshoot complex issues, mentor junior technicians, coordinate with vendors, and support 24/7 airport operations including nights,

Qualifications

• HVAC systems knowledge required.
• Electrical and plumbing understanding essential.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, and BAS.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Complete work orders and keep maintenance records/logs up to date.
• Respond to service calls and emergencies, including after-hours/on-call support.
• Support facility projects and coordinate with vendors onsite.
• Track spare parts and flag reorder needs.
• Follow safety protocols (LOTO, OSHA, confined space, fall protection).
• Mentor junior technicians and share best practices.

Description

The Building Maintenance Technician is a full time union position and is responsible for performing advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on building systems, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted facility operations.

This position serves as the senior-level maintenance technician and is expected to work independently, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and support in maintaining operational excellence throughout the facility.

Requirements

What you’ll do

• Maintain and repair building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, and BAS
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment
• Complete work orders and keep maintenance records/logs up to date
• Respond to service calls and emergencies, including some after-hours/on-call support
• Support facility projects (installs, upgrades, repairs) and coordinate with vendors onsite
• Track spare parts/supplies and flag reorder needs
• Follow safety protocols (LOTO, OSHA, confined space, fall protection)
• Mentor junior technicians and share best practices

What you need

• High school diploma/GED (trade school a plus)
• 5+ years of commercial/industrial maintenance experience
• Strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical knowledge
• Can read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals
• CMMS experience preferred
• Valid driver's license
