Essential Job Functions:
Create and execute resource-loaded plans for Level 1 and Level 2, including variance reporting (comparing budgets to actuals).
Manage one or more intermediate or complex projects, within a matrix team environment.
Provide leadership, direction, training, coordination, and effective communication to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and close projects in a safe, efficient, economical, risk-balanced approach to achieve short and long range goals and to obtain maximum customer satisfaction.
Provide project transparency and develop relationships and effectively communicate with all stakeholders including internal customers, external customers, team members, suppliers, contractors, vendors, and industry peers, enabling them to make sound business decisions.
Enable and promote team level continuous improvement activities that increase quality and optimize delivery of value.
Perform supervisory duties and responsibilities if direct reports are assigned.
May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team.
Minimum Requirements:
Technology Project Manager Principal (SG9):
Education: Bachelor's degree in project management, computer science, or related technical field is required.
Experience: 7 years of relevant work experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Technology Project Manager Staff (SG10):
Education: Bachelor's degree in project management, computer science, or related technical field is required.
Experience: 10 years of relevant work experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
Skills/Experience:
Experience with establishing Minimum Viable Product and tracking and managing the related scope to deliver projects within budget.
Knowledge of Supply Chain and Procurement (SCP) as well as Fleet Operations business functions and processes is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Maximo capabilities that support Supply Chain and Procurement functions is a significant advantage.
Strong meeting coordination and facilitation skills are required to enable status report-outs, planning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Vendor management skills are essential for partnering with outside suppliers on project execution while managing risks and protecting AEP’s best interests.
Proficiency in ServiceNow—specifically the PortfolioNow module—for managing AEP’s class estimates and monitoring project financials is required.
Ability to manage and lead multiple initiatives, and prepare portfolio roadmaps and project plans using MS Project is necessary.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization.
