Job summary

The University of Michigan's Raoul Wallenberg Institute invites applications for the 2027-2028 open-rank research fellowship in Ann Arbor. Scholars and practitioners from any discipline working on ethnic or religious hatred or tolerance are encouraged to apply.

Fellows will have time and resources to pursue their projects, may teach one course in years two or three or contribute equivalent service, and participate in weekly workshops.

Qualifications

• Open-rank fellowship for scholars and practitioners across disciplines.
• PhD must be defended by August 1, 2027.
• Citizenship status does not affect eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original research related to ethnic and religious hatred or tolerance.
• Engage with the campus community through teaching or equivalent service.
• Participate in weekly Wallenberg Fellows' workshops and mentoring activities.
• Prepare a proposal and 30-page writing sample as part of the application.
