Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking candidates for production roles in North Carolina. You will operate hand and power tools, assemble window and door components, and perform quality checks while following standardized work instructions.

You will read work orders, use tablets and company systems, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires flexibility for extended hours or weekend shifts and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred; window manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Able to read a tape measure and understand fractions, decimals, measurements, and tolerances.
  • Comfortable operating hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, tablets, and company systems.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions and standardized work.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, dependability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing and able to cross-train and work in multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand and power tools, saws, welders, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Assemble, fabricate, lift, pick, pack, and position window and door components.
  • Perform extrusion, cutting, fitting, clamping, welding, and other production processes.
  • Read work orders, tape measures, measurements, fractions, decimals, and standard work instructions.
  • Perform quality inspections, CTQ/CFA audits, functional checks, and required product testing.
  • Identify defects and quality issues, document findings, and generate quality reports.
  • Use tablets, SafetyCulture, Excel, and other systems to record and analyze quality data.
  • Support 5S, Kaizen, No Defect Forward, continuous improvement, and problem-solving activities.
  • Maintain production flow, monitor materials, reduce scrap, and keep work areas clean.
  • Assist with training coworkers and become cross-trained in multiple departments.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, production standards, and supervisor instructions.

Pay rate starting at $16/hr for Production level 1 and $17/hr for Production level 2

ALL SHIFTS AVAILABLE + SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Operate hand and power tools, saws, welders, and other manufacturing equipment

WHAT TO EXPECT — LET'S BE TRANSPARENT
  • Physical Work: Stand and perform repetitive motions for 8–12 hours, including bending, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
  • Lifting: Depending on the department, you may frequently lift up to 40–50 lbs.
  • Manufacturing Environment: Work may be performed in hot or cold conditions and on concrete floors.
  • Fast-Paced & Repetitive: You'll be expected to maintain production rates while meeting quality and safety standards.
  • Safety First: Required PPE may include safety glasses, hearing protection, arm guards, and metatarsal safety shoes.
  • Flexibility: You may work in different positions or departments and may be required to work extended hours or weekends based on business needs.
