Job summary

Voltjet Electricals is seeking an Electrical Field Technician to perform electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance at customer sites. The role involves wiring, panel work, troubleshooting, and coordination with project teams.

The candidate should read diagrams, handle VFDs and motors, and be willing to travel to sites as required. ITI/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering is preferred, with hands-on industrial experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning at site.
• Install and troubleshoot control panels, MCC/PCC panels and distributions.
• Read electrical drawings and control schematics accurately.
• Carry out cable laying, dressing, termination, and continuity testing.
• Troubleshoot faults in motors, relays, sensors, and control circuits.
• Install and commission VFDs, soft starters, and electrical systems.
• Conduct testing with meters and insulation testers.
• Provide on-site technical support and resolve breakdowns.
• Coordinate with automation, mechanical, and maintenance teams.
• Maintain installation records and commissioning documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and site PPE rules.
• Travel to customer/project locations as required.

Job Summary

We are looking for an Electrical Field Technician responsible for electrical installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of industrial electrical systems and equipment at customer/project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installation, wiring, termination, testing, and commissioning at site.
• Install and troubleshoot control panels, MCC panels, PCC panels, distribution panels, and electrical equipment.
• Read and understand electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Perform cable laying, cable dressing, glanding, termination, and continuity testing.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, contactors, relays, MCBs, MCCBs, overload relays, sensors, and control circuits.
• Perform installation and commissioning of VFDs, soft starters, motors, and electrical control systems.
• Conduct electrical testing using a multimeter, clamp meter, megger, and other testing instruments.
• Identify electrical faults and provide effective corrective actions.
• Assist in machine installation, electrical panel integration, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with automation, mechanical, production, and maintenance teams during project execution.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Maintain service reports, installation records, checklists, and commissioning documentation.
• Provide technical support at customer sites and resolve breakdown/service issues.
• Follow electrical safety procedures, PPE requirements, and site safety standards.
• Travel to customer/project locations as required.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
• Knowledge of AC/DC motors, starters, contactors, relays, sensors, VFDs, and control circuits.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Hands-on experience in electrical panel wiring and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of cable termination, ferruling, crimping, and electrical testing.
• Basic knowledge of PLC/HMI systems will be an advantage.
• Ability to use electrical testing instruments.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel and work at customer/project sites.

Educational Qualification

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Experience

• ITI: 12 years of relevant industrial electrical experience.
• Diploma: 12 years of relevant field/service experience.
• Freshers with strong practical knowledge may also be considered.
