Job summary

Barchemy LLC is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in industrial facilities. You will work from prints and specifications with minimal supervision and may direct apprentices on assigned tasks.

This role typically requires 40+ hours per week with overtime, shift, and weekend work as projects demand. Strong PLC, VFD, and hazardous-location experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman-level status through an completed apprenticeship or trade school/technical college with field experience.
  • 4+ years of electrical experience, with at least 2 years in industrial or heavy commercial settings.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and control diagrams.
  • Experience with 480V three-phase systems, motor controls and conduit bending.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate and test power distribution equipment up to 480V and medium voltage where qualified.
  • Bend and install conduit, pull feeders and install cable trays.
  • Wire and commission motors, VFDs, soft starters and motor controls.
  • Install instrumentation and control wiring for PLCs, sensors and panels.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults with multimeters and test equipment.
  • Read one-lines, schematics, ladder diagrams and P&IDs; redline as-builts.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Mentor apprentices and coordinate with maintenance staff and plant personnel.

Barchemy LLC is hiring an experienced Industrial Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in industrial facilities. The role works from prints and specifications with minimal supervision and may direct apprentices on assigned tasks.

Typically 40+ hours/week; overtime, shift and weekend work as projects require

Preferred qualifications
  • PLC experience (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens): basic I/O troubleshooting and online monitoring
  • VFD programming and startup (e.g., PowerFlex, ABB, Yaskawa)
  • Hazardous-location (Class I/II, Div 1/2) installation experience
  • Instrumentation and process-control work in manufacturing, chemical, food/beverage or utility plants
  • Medium-voltage terminations and splicing
  • Certifications: NFPA 70E Qualified Person, OSHA 30, aerial/scissor lift, forklift, CPR/First Aid
  • Experience with plant shutdowns and turnaround work
Safety, physical demands and work environment

Safety is a condition of employment: the electrician follows LOTO, PPE and energized-work rules on every task and stops work when conditions are unsafe.

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lb; push/pull reels and equipment with assistance
  • Stand, climb, kneel, crawl and work overhead for extended periods
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds and aerial lifts at heights up to 40 ft with fall protection
  • Work in confined spaces, in noise, dust and heat/cold, indoors and outdoors
  • Wear required PPE, including arc-rated clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toe boots
  • Normal color vision to identify wire colors and markings

Key responsibilities
  • Install, terminate and test power distribution equipment: switchgear, MCCs, transformers, panelboards and disconnects up to 480V (and medium voltage where qualified)
  • Bend and install rigid, EMT and IMC conduit; pull and terminate feeder and branch conductors; install cable tray and MC/Teck cable
  • Wire and commission motors, VFDs, soft starters and motor controls
  • Install and terminate instrumentation and control wiring for PLCs, sensors, transmitters and control panels
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control faults using multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters and loop calibrators
  • Read and work from one-lines, schematics, ladder diagrams, P&IDs and panel drawings; redline as-builts
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant electrical systems to minimize downtime
  • Install grounding and bonding systems and lighting (including hazardous-location fixtures)
  • Follow NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA and site-specific safety rules, including lockout/tagout on every job
  • Mentor and direct apprentices; coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor, other trades and plant personnel
  • Keep tools, materials and work areas organized; complete timesheets, work orders and safety paperwork accurately
Required qualifications
  • Journeyman-level status through a completed apprenticeship or an accredited trade school or technical college degree plus equivalent field experience
  • 4+ years of electrical experience (completed apprenticeship or equivalent), with at least 2 years in industrial or heavy commercial settings
  • Working knowledge of the current NEC and NFPA 70E
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, one-lines, schematics and control diagrams
  • Experience with 480V three-phase systems, motor controls and conduit bending
  • OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred)
  • Own hand tools per company tool list
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
