Job summary

Berkshire Waldorf School in Massachusetts seeks a Pedagogical Director to guide Waldorf education with passion and evidence of successful administration. This leader will sustain a healthy culture of teaching and learning and promote Waldorf principles within the school community.

As a senior member of School Leadership, the director collaborates with families and faculty, chairs the Council of Teachers, and reports to the Board of Trustees while aligning with the strategic plan and long‑term

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and writing skills.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate adults in a school setting.
• Demonstrated collaboration with faculty and families.
• Commitment to Waldorf education principles.

Responsibilities

• Acts as outward facing member of School Leadership with families, admissions, alumni, and the wider community.
• Chairs the Council of Teachers and participates in committees.
• Supervises, supports and guides the faculty through meetings, observations, and professional development.
• Manages parent communication efforts and engagement.
• Supports Admissions in events, retention, and enrollment strategies.
• Maintains relationships with AWSNA regionally and continentally.
• Upholds school policies with integrity and grace.
• Advances ongoing work under the School’s Strategic Plan.
