Job summary

Berkeley Rose Waldorf School in Oakland, CA invites applications for a Grades Lead Class Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Currently enrolled in Waldorf Teacher Training or completed program.
• Experience working with children in educational settings.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Dependable, reflective, and committed to professional growth.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Take primary responsibility for a class of 20+ children.
• Plan and carry out curriculum according to Waldorf pedagogy.
• Write narrative reports and rubrics for year-end assessments.
• Lead Parent/Teacher conferences three times per year.
• Maintain a clean, orderly classroom with seasonal changes.
• Participate in faculty meetings, mentoring, PD, and school events.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other times.
• Maintain attendance records and classroom organization.
• Foster welcoming, inclusive classrooms for all families.
