Job summary

Berkeley Rose Waldorf School in Oakland, CA is seeking a Grades Associate Teacher for the 2026–2027 year. The role focuses on collaboration with Lead Teachers and supports two primary classrooms while engaging in curriculum planning and community building.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Currently enrolled in, or completed, Waldorf Teacher Training.
• Experience working with children in educational settings.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Dependable, reflective, and committed to professional growth.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Teach lessons and support curriculum under Lead Teachers.
• Prepare classroom materials and seasonal activities.
• Support classroom management and student development.
• Assist with parent conferences, student reports, and class meetings.
• Maintain attendance, student records, and classroom organization.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other times.
• Participate in faculty meetings, mentoring, professional development, and school events.
• Foster welcoming, inclusive classrooms where every child and family belongs.
