Job summary

Walden Behavioral Care is seeking a Family Therapist in Waltham, MA to provide direct care for patients with eating disorders under supervision, in a 100% onsite, full-time role with two evenings included. • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field.
• Minimum 2 years direct clinical care in a mental health setting.
• Minimum 1 year working with families in a mental health setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of patients in partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs using FBT methods.
• Provide clinical care and case management per Walden Behavioral Care guidelines.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments, participate in treatment planning and discharge planning.
• Conduct individual, group and family therapy.
• Conduct risk assessments and crisis management.
• Support adolescent population with some adult coverage expectations.
• Collaborate with referral sources and outpatient providers.
• Ensure timely, professional documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with the treatment team across the Walden continuum of care.
• Possibly support virtual patient care and telehealth as needed.

Family Therapist provides direct care for patients with eating disorders under the supervision of the Program Director.

This is a Full time position, 100% onsite with 2 evenings included.

Pay: $67,000.00-$110,000.00 depending on education and experience

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage a caseload of patients in both the partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs utilizing Family Based Treatment (FBT) methods.
• Provide clinical care and case management in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Walden Behavioral Care and other regulatory agencies.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments, participate in treatment planning, utilization review, and discharge planning.
• Conduct individual, group and family therapy.
• Conduct risk assessments and crisis management.
• Manage cases for primarily the adolescent population with an expectation of some coverage in the adult programs.
• Collaborate with referral sources and outpatient providers.
• Work to ensure that all required documentation is completed in a timely and professional manner, while complying with all regulatory standards.
• Work collaboratively with the treatment team throughout the Walden continuum of care.
• Maybe required to support virtual patient care and telehealth services as needed, including during periods of low census or to address coverage needs.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years experience providing direct clinical care in a mental health setting, preferably in an eating disorders program
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience working with families in a mental health setting

Licensure/Certification:

• Independent or provisional license; preferred
• Current CPR certification

Knowledge:

• Must have strong clinical, organizational and communication skills
• Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group process, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior/crisis management.
