Job summary

Swann House is a care facility in Saxmundham, Suffolk, seeking a dedicated Care Assistant for waking nights. You will support residents with daily living activities, personal care, mobility and medication, while building respectful, person‑centered relationships.

This role requires lone working, a calm, compassionate approach, and accurate reporting within care plans. Orwell offers a 18-hour week contract, 22:00–7:00 shifts, DBS clearance, and a benefits package including annual leave, training

Qualifications

• Care Certificate is desirable.
• QCF Level 2 in Health and Social care or equivalent, is desirable.
• Full driving licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with daily living activities, which may include personal care, mobility, social engagement, mealtimes and medication.
• Building positive, person-centred relationships and offering compassionate emotional support.
• Using clear communication, active listening and strong observation skills, including accurate recording and reporting within care plans.
• Supporting people with a range of health needs, including dementia, mental health conditions and end‑of‑life care.
• Maintaining a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and responding appropriately to concerns.
• Contributing to person‑centered care planning that focuses on each individual’s needs, preferences and outcomes.

Education

Care Certificate

QCF Level 2 in Health and Social care or equivalent
