Job summary

Buckner Retirement Services Community: Westminster Place in Longview, TX is seeking a Waitstaff to provide friendly, attentive service to residents. This full-time, onsite role supports dining experiences with warmth and hospitality.

You will handle menu knowledge, take orders, coordinate with the kitchen, and maintain accuracy in cash handling while upholding Buckner Service Standards.

Qualifications

• Proficient ability to speak, read and write English; able to read, write, and understand business documents in English.
• Ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers; make self clearly understood.
• Able to follow basic written and oral instructions.
• Ability to move food serving and preparation equipment up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently.
• Depth perception and field of vision are important for handling objects and equipment.

Job Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking a Waitstaff to join our community committed to delivering outstanding service to our residents. As a Waitstaff, you will play an important role in all phases of delivering service that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:

• Must be upbeat, courteous, and positive.
• Possesses great guest relation and communications skills.
• Deliver hospitality, enhance every guest experience.
• Be able to navigate through the menu, describe featured menu items. Demonstrate extensive menu knowledge.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders. Be able to send orders to kitchen accurately through the point of sales system. Partner with all associates to serve food and beverages in a timely manner.
• Cash handling, including, but not limited to counting and balancing cash register. Ensure all payments are processed timely, accurately, and correctly. Maintain the confidentiality of guest information.
• Must have the ability to multi-task and work well with others.
• Must be able to adhere to our Buckner Service Standards.

What you'll bring:

• Work deals mostly with objects, equipment and/or machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.
