Job summary

The Naval Support Activity, Regional Support Services Program, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Recreation Division is seeking a food and beverage service assistant to support catered functions, conferences and special events.

Responsibilities include preparing areas, setting tables, serving beverages, and maintaining cleanliness; candidates must meet background and suitability requirements and comply with standard federal workplace policies.

• Knowledge of proper table setting techniques.
• Ability to follow oral instructions; performs routine manual tasks involving few steps.

Summary

This position is located in the Naval Support Activity, Regional Support Services Program, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Recreation Division. The purpose of this position is to provide food and beverage service for catered functions, conference and/or special events.

Duties

Performs necessary preparations in assigned area prior to opening the dining room such as;

• setting the tables with cloths, silverware, glasses, condiments, napkins, and decorations.
• Prepares back-up tables with such supplements as butter, ice, coffee, fruits, juices, salads, and breads. Must be familiar with the menu for the day, offer suggestions if requested, record desired selections from guests and turn in the order for preparation to the kitchen.
• Serves side dishes such as salads, fruit dishes, bread, wine or other beverages.
• When meal is completed, clears and cleans table and the immediate area, and resets the table in preparation for the next guests. Performs other related duties as required. Must meet minimum age requirement.

Requirements

Conditions of employment:

• Must pass all applicable records and background check.
• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
