The North Carolina Department of Labor seeks an Investigator I to enforce wage-hour and related statutes, performing on-site audits and investigations of employers. The role requires evaluating records, interviewing witnesses, and negotiating back wages where due.

A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are essential. Spanish is preferred; bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Spanish preferred; bilingual English/Spanish strongly encouraged.
• Knowledge of Wage and Hour Act and FLSA.
• Experience conducting investigations and reviewing records.

Responsabilités

• Conduct wage-hour and related investigations of employers.
• Interview employees, employers and witnesses to verify information.
• Evaluate findings, calculate wages due and negotiate back wages.
• Prepare case documents and assist with litigation as needed.
