This role focuses on handling wage and hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), New York Labor Law, and other state laws. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in employment law, particularly with class and collective actions, and will work on cases involving compliance and risk management for wage and hour matters.

Duties

  • Litigate a broad range of employment-related claims, with a primary focus on wage and hour cases under federal and state laws.
  • Represent employers in court, administrative agencies, mediations, and arbitration proceedings.
  • Provide legal advice on compliance with wage and hour laws and assist with risk management and dispute resolution.
  • Manage cases involving class/collective actions related to wage and hour disputes.
  • Support employers with issues related to Fair Workweek and predictive scheduling (desired but not required).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferably in employment law.
  • Strong background in handling wage and hour claims and related litigation.
  • Active admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to obtain admission.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
