Job Title: Wade Pool Attendant

Job Details:

  • Location: Cortland County Highway Department
  • Type: Full Time, 40 hours per week
  • Salary: $16.50/hr
  • Status: Non-Competitive, Temporary

Responsibilities:

This position involves the responsibility for proper surveillance of a wade pool. Since the bathers are usually young and small with little or no swimming ability, their risks are greater. Due to the shallow water depth, the ability to swim is not necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Possession of a current CPR certificate as per NYS Health Department requirements (a copy must accompany the application; all certifications must have exact titles and additional requirements fulfilled)
  • Certification must indicate completion of an in-person skills assessment (or a separate verification of skills)

Additional Requirements:

  • CPR certifications are valid for 1 year from the date of certification
  • Individuals hired will be reimbursed for the course cost
  • Pre-employment screenings are required
