Job description

WABC is seeking a Head Stagehand to join our team of stagehands. The ideal candidate will have experience in stage production and a strong attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Participate in the construction, installation, and teardown of sets for both regular programming and special productions.
  2. Collaborate with the art department, designers, and engineers on custom scenic solutions.
  3. Operate the studio’s production automation systems, working closely with technical directors and control room staff to synchronize lighting, scenic elements, and effects for seamless on-air execution.
  4. Collaborate closely with other stagehands and production team members.
  5. Consult with management regarding the supervision and assignment of the Local 1 crew.
Job Requirements
  1. A minimum of three years of experience working on a stage crew or in a broadcast studio.
  2. Ability to multi-task effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  3. Flexibility to work early hours, weekends, and beyond scheduled times when production requires.
  4. Familiarity with ETC lighting consoles or equivalent equipment is a plus.
  5. Experience in live TV studio operations is preferred.
  6. Theatrical production experience is helpful.
  7. Experience operating Genie or Scissor lifts is preferred.
  8. High School diploma or equivalent.
