Job summary

Altra Homecare of Kokomo in Wabash, Indiana is seeking caring Personal Care Assistants to provide in-home support. You will assist with personal care, light meals, mobility, and companionship to help clients maintain independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
• Ability to read, follow care instructions, and document services.
• Willingness to complete required training.
• Prior caregiving experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Prepare light meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Support safe mobility and ambulation.
• Assist with range-of-motion exercises.
• Take and record vital signs.
• Maintain a safe and clean living environment.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Provide companionship (conversation, reading, letter writing).
• Observe and report changes in client condition.
• Complete required documentation and follow care plans.
• Follow privacy and infection control guidelines.
