Job description

Freese and Nichols is seeking a W/WW Transmission and Utilities Lead in our Overland Park, KS office to spearhead the growth of our company and practice in Kansas and Missouri. You'll play a pivotal role in:

  • Growing and leading a high-performing team: Guide and mentor your team to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Building strategic partnerships: Develop and nurture relationships with key clients, regulatory agencies and teaming partners.
  • Winning new business: Craft compelling proposals and lead the pursuit of new opportunities.
  • Staying ahead of the curve: Embrace innovation and ensure our team utilizes cutting-edge technology.

As a key part of our W/WW Transmission and Utilities leadership team in the Central Plains (Kansas/Missouri/Arkansas/Oklahoma), additional responsibilities include:

  • Transmission and Utilities strategy development related to Kansas and Missouri.
  • Execute the development, refinement, and implementation of the annual business plan for strategic clients, programs, projects, and conferences.
  • Provide leadership in obtaining and developing applicable key clients each year in connection with our strategy and annual planned targets.
  • Develop high-value client relationships, while representing Freese and Nichols with key clients and teaming partners.
  • Serve as Client Representative for current and/or growth clients.
  • Engage and cultivate client service teams to support understanding and delivering on client needs and expectations.
  • Create client engagement strategies and pursuit plans, actively leading in key opportunity proposal strategy, positioning, teaming, messaging, and interview development.
  • Serve as senior technical resource for key clients and engineers.
  • Support development of staff members, especially as it relates to exceptional client service delivery, strategic planning, and effective communication.
  • Ensure quality client services, clarity on work products, and delivery of high-quality services within budget and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer Registration in Kansas and Missouri.
  • 15+ years of experience in W/WW transmission and utilities engineering, including design of water pump stations, wastewater lift stations, pipelines (large and small diameter), and storage tanks.
  • Proven project management skills in managing complex, multi-discipline treatment plant and utility projects.
  • Knowledge of KDHE and MDNR processes and requirements.
  • Must possess verifiable experience of client development/sales, specifically being a leader of developing client relationships with a larger engineering consultant team/firm (regional and company-wide).
