Job summary

ISMIRA Agency is recruiting for an Upholsterer to join Virgin Voyages on board brand new vessels. The role supports the Carpenter Supervisor in daily tasks and ensures upholstery work across ship furniture and fittings, while maintaining a clean, organized workshop and safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of upholstery experience on cruise ships.
• Good command of English for onboard operations.
• Recognized upholstery qualification as required by STCW or company standards.

• Maintain workshop cleanliness, inventory, and tools.
• Follow supervisor instructions and report maintenance in a closed loop.
• Collaborate with other ship departments and attend inspections.

ISMIRA Agency actively recruiting for position UPHOLSTERER for Virgin Voyages!

The Upholsterer is to assist the Carpenter Supervisor in the completion of day to day tasks involved in the daily operation.

WORK CONDITIONS:

• Work on board brand new company vessels Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady (ship #4 will happen later on!)
• Be a part of special Virgin Voyage's lifestyle and philosophy and grow together
• Contract length - 4-6 months for most positions, for entry positions - 7 months
• Free food, accommodation, coffee + soft drinks and also wifi (though limited speed) for crew
• The employer is going to provide or reimburse expenses for the following:
  • STCW certification
  • Joining tickets
  • Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME)
  • Necessary Visas
  • Joining expenses, such as transfers, hotel accommodations, subsistence

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Upholstery jobs on the furniture and items throughout the Ship
  
• Ensure the cleanliness and operation of the Upholstery workshop, equipment, inventory, and consumables
  
• Perform emergency duties
  
• Responsible for inventory, cleanliness, and functionality of assigned tools
  
• Ensure that assigned maintenance and repair is reported in closed-loop communication with Supervisor
  
• Ensure necessary records are accurately maintained
  
• Effectively communicates and collaborates with other departments
  
• Participate in inspections, training, meetings, and functions as necessary
  
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 21 years old
• Minimum 2 years experience as Upholsterer onboard a Cruise ship.
• Recognized qualification
• All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position.
• Good command of the English Language
