Job summary

ISMIRA Agency is recruiting a MIXOLOGIST to join Virgin Voyages on the Virgin ships Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady. You will deliver exceptional guest experiences, master cocktail preparation, and maintain bar operations in a luxury cruise setting.

Contract length is typically 4–6 months, with 7 months for entry positions. Perks include free meals, accommodation, coffee, soft drinks, and limited Wi‑Fi on board; STCW certification and joining expenses are provided or reimbursed

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years old.
• Minimum 2 years' recent Head Bartender experience in a 4/5 star hotel/resort/premium bar/restaurant.
• STCW certificates as required by the position.
• Knowledge of drink recipes and beverage service standards.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide an epic guest experience at all times.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, brands, beers and non-alcoholic options.
• Know glassware, garnishes, and bar setup for assigned outlet.
• Open and serve wine/champagne bottles with style and accuracy.
• Lead on-the-job training for bar staff on new beverages.
• Assist in planning sailor experiences with beverage tastings and events.
• Support Beverage Manager in operating all public bars and crew spaces.

ISMIRA Agency actively recruiting for position MIXOLOGIST for Virgin Voyages!

WORK CONDITIONS:

• Work on board brand new company vessels Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady (ship #4 will happen later on!)
• Be a part of special Virgin Voyage's lifestyle and philosophy and grow together
• Contract length - 4-6 months for most positions, for entry positions - 7 months
• Free food, accommodation, coffee + soft drinks and also wifi (though limited speed) for crew
• The employer is going to provide or reimburse expenses for the following:
  • STCW certification
  • Joining tickets
  • Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME)
  • Necessary Visas
  • Joining expenses, such as transfers, hotel accommodations, subsistence

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide an epic experience for our guests at all times
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet
• Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink
• Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, price range and dress code of assigned outlet
• Competently and with style open and serve wine/champagne bottles
• Fully knowledgeable in standard cocktail recipes, wine lists, spirits, other alcoholic beverages, garnishes and presentations
• Responsible for planning and leading the training all bar staff in the making, garnishing and delivering of new beverages via ‘on the job' training
• Works with F&B Director to plan and execute Sailor experiences such as cocktail making, liquor tastings, beer seminars, food pairing, industry competitions etc.
• Assists the Beverage Manager and Assistant Beverage Manager in the operation and supervision of all Public bars, lounges, decks and crew bar
• Ensures a professional service is delivered to sailors at all times and personal appearance and uniform are kept to company standards
• Be familiar with all cruise services/features and activations to respond to Sailor inquiries accurately
• Assists Bartenders during busy hours as well as providing coverage during breaks where necessary
• Assists in ensuring that all beverage stocks in the bars, lockers and pantries are used, stored, inventoried and accounted for following company policy
• Responsible for monitoring the inventory of specialty glasses, utensils and bar kits ensuring all are in pristine condition at all times
• Ensures cost awareness by monitoring breakage, spoilage, waste
