Requisites

  • This position reports directly to the Sales Director.
  • This position is considered regular, full-time, and requires a minimum schedule of 40 hours per week. This will also include travel.
  • Confidentiality, integrity, dependability, and cooperation.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation/Valid passport (or able to obtain).
  • Must be able to travel worldwide by air, land and sea.
  • Observe and comply with AVC’s rules and regulations.
  • Must agree to (and pass) a background check, physical (if applicable), and drug screening testing.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience considered.

Tasks and Work Activities

  • Act as liaison between the sales team and American Vulkan Corporation (AVC) division managers.
  • Identify and resolve customer concerns, coordinating with AVC staff to ensure project requirements are met and exemplary service is provided.
  • Assist customers in selecting products based on needs, specifications, capabilities, limitations, pricing, availability, credit terms, bid specifications, and regulations.
  • Prepare and present responses for information and requests for proposals in a timely manner.
  • Expand market awareness of AVC products, closing and growing sales by presenting features and benefits to existing and new customers.
  • Assist in investigating market potential and developing a marketing plan with management guidance.
  • Keep management informed with concise and timely reporting as requested by the Immediate Supervisor.
  • Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications.
  • Verify that delivery schedules meet project deadlines.
  • Stock or distribute resources, such as samples or promotional or educational materials.
  • Attend sales or trade meetings and read related publications to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, environmental regulations, or industry developments.
  • Assist and consult with the sales team and engineers regarding client needs, technical challenges and product issues.
  • Think creatively, organize, plan, and prioritize work, develop objectives and strategies, make decisions, solve problems, update and use relevant knowledge, interpret information for others, and judge the qualities of things, services, or people.
  • Perform administrative duties such as analyzing, processing, documenting, and recording data or information.
  • Communicate with supervisors, peers, subordinates, and persons outside the organization.
  • Proficiency in the English language, including speaking, active listening, reading comprehension, and written and oral expression.
  • Ability to work well with others, contribute to group efforts, identify issues, think critically, and develop practical solutions.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
