The CNC Operator sets up and operates CNC turn/mill machines, requiring high machining capabilities (tolerance, flatness, parallelism, concentricity, surface finish, etc.), complex setups, and handling heavy or awkward material shapes and sizes. This role demands experience in reading complex drawings/blueprints, turn/mill machining, and setup. The operator is responsible for inspecting and documenting their work and stamping identity codes/serial numbers.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Check router, part drawings, setup documentation, and CNC programs for correct and matching revision levels.
2. Verify proper setup of the part, including runout, flatness, and parallelism. Run the part according to the drawing specifications. Edit speeds, feeds, program (g-code), and machine tool offsets as needed.
3. Deburr all necessary edges to prevent injury and damage to equipment.
4. Create a move ticket to send the part to the next operation.
5. Prepare required tooling and load it into the machine tool changer. Verify cutting tool condition, including wear, runout, tightening torque, and lubrication.
6. Assist engineers and supervision to improve parts, methods, fixturing, and workplace organization for continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Experience in setup and operation of CNC turn/mill machines
• Adherence to all safety rules, proper PPE use, and housekeeping duties
