Job summary

Cayuse Holdings is seeking a VTC Systems Engineer to support secure multimedia environments for VIP and General Officer conferences. The role focuses on zero-defect audio/video quality and uninterrupted command and control in mission-critical settings.

The engineer will install, configure, and maintain CMS, TMS, CUCM, and MCUs, ensuring STIG compliance, managing COMSEC hardware, and troubleshooting complex network issues. A DoD 8140/8570 IAT II certification and active clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or 10+ years military/civilian operational experience.
  • Active DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II compliant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
  • CCNA Collaboration or Cisco CCT Collaboration (minimum).
  • Crestron Master Programmer, Crestron Technologist, or Extron Authorized Programmer/AV Assistant.
  • Active Secret Clearance, with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
  • Mastery of Cisco TMS and CMS.
  • Experience integrating cryptographic equipment (TACLANEs, KIVs) into secure VTC enclaves.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, engineer, and maintain server-side infrastructure (CMS, TMS, CUCM, MCUs, AV hardware).
  • Monitor backend network traffic; coordinate with network ops to manage QoS and bandwidth; troubleshoot routing issues for H.323 and SIP.
  • Apply and maintain STIGs across VTC components; manage firewalls and enterprise COMSEC architecture.
  • Manage and key COMSEC hardware (e.g., TACLANEs) for secure enclaves.
  • Configure bridging resources (MCUs) and calendar/bridge resources via Cisco TMS or Outlook to prevent scheduling conflicts.
  • Conduct physical room sweeps 30–60 minutes before high-priority events to test connectivity, cameras, and mics.
  • Resolve complex outages; serve as escalation point for Tier I & II in-room issues (cables, calls, sharing).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Employment in this role is conditional upon successful execution of the contract by the client.

The Work:

The Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Systems Engineerto support seamless operations of secure multimedia environments with a focus on facilitating, monitoring, and troubleshooting VIP and General Officer-level conferences. This position demands a highly skilled professional with a strong technical acumen, a customer-focused mindset, and expertise in enterprise VTC system management. The VTC Systems Engineer will ensure zero-defect audio/video quality and provide uninterrupted command and control capabilities in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, engineer, and maintain server-side infrastructure, including:
    • Cisco Meeting Server (CMS)
    • Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS)
    • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
    • Multipoint Control Units (MCUs)
    • Specialized audiovisual hardware.
  • Monitor backend network traffic and collaborate with network operations to manage Quality of Service (QoS), provision enterprise bandwidth allocation, and resolve complex network routing outages and failures forH.323 and SIP traffic.
  • Apply and maintainDISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)across all VTC components, manage firewalls, and oversee the enterprise COMSEC architecture.
  • Manage and key COMSEC hardware (e.g.,TACLANEs) for secure enclaves.
  • Configure bridging resources (MCUs) and manage room calendars/bridge resources using tools likeCisco TMSor Outlook to prevent scheduling conflicts.
  • Conduct physical sweeps of conference rooms 30 to 60 minutes prior to high-priority events to test dial-in connectivity, cameras, and microphones.
  • Resolve complex network outages, routing failures, and server crashes.
  • Serve as an escalation point for Tier I & II helpdesk tickets regarding in-room issues, such as bad cables, dropped calls, and presentation sharing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications – Here’s What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or 10+ years military/civilian operational experience.

  • Active DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II compliant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).

  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Ability to rapidly respond to immediate, high-stress callouts for troubleshooting VIP and General Officer in-progress meetings.
  • Strong capacity for end-user education, including conducting "quick-start" orientations for staff officers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNP Collaboration, with focus on CUCM, CMS, and TMS.

Working Conditions:
