Job description

GlobaLogix, Inc. serves mid-market Energy and Utility clients by delivering engineering, design, and installation of industrial control systems on time and on budget. We deliver engineering, design, and installation of industrial control systems so our clients can focus on their business.


We are currently seeking a VRU Automation Technician/Programmer for our West Texas-New Mexico operations. Local candidates are preferred, but we are open to hiring non-local candidates to work on a 2:1 rotation.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Create and maintain HMI programs for Allen Bradley Factory Talk and Controlled Components Workbench Applications.
  2. Read and interpret technical documentation (P&IDs, ladder logic, function block code, schematics, loop sheets, manuals, etc.).
  3. Experience in industrial wiring, terminating components, motor controls, and relay logic.
  4. Experience in VFD controls, processes, wiring, and applications.
  5. Experience working with pneumatic valves, electric actuators, and process valves.
  6. Knowledge and ability to identify 480-volt 3 phase components, step down to 120VAC and step down to 24-volt VDC.
  7. Seasoned experience in understanding Analog and Digital I/O designs and documentation.
  8. Seasoned experience in Modbus communication protocol programming.
  9. Implement and diagnose communication systems including Rosemount and Hart protocols.
  10. Seasoned experience in principles of TCP/IP communications and relevant hardware infrastructure.
  11. Troubleshoot and calibrate devices including wiring and configuration (flow, temperature, pressure, and level devices).
  12. Ability to operate motor meggers, various types of multimeters, sourcing and simulating 4-20mA transmitters.
  13. Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and fundamentals of electronics.
  14. Assist field service team as needed with equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and start-ups.

Develop and maintain PLC programs for Allen Bradley MicroLogix and Micro800 series platforms.
