Job summary

Universal Industrial Gases, LLC. (UIG) in Bethlehem, PA, is seeking a VPSA Process Engineer to design and support VPSA projects and proposals. You will develop process designs, run simulations, and prepare PFDs and HMBs for air separation systems.

The role requires a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with at least five years in VPSA, strong MS Office skills, and excellent communication. Travel up to 20% and collaboration with customers and suppliers are expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum five years of experience in the Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption industry.
• Experience in the development of Process Flow Diagram (PFDs) and Heat and Material Balances (HMB).
• Working knowledge of Process Equipment sizing, materials selection and utilities requirements.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office.
• Effective written and verbal communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop process engineering designs and specifications for VPSA projects and proposals.
• Perform process simulations and calculations; write process specifications.
• Develop PFDs and HMBs; participate in P&IDs, HAZOP, and plant start-up.
• Review vendor equipment proposals and project drawings for design criteria compliance.
• Provide process support for VPSA start-up and ongoing operations; travel up to 20%.
